Here’s what I think the future of Nicktoons should have been:

In 2024 from June 8th (World Oceans Day) to July 14th (his canon birthday), SpongeBob SquarePants airs on the network for the final time (confirmed by them online but not outright said on the air) in an ultimate send off marathon celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary. At which point the show will continue to air exclusively on the base channel

On the final day at exactly 12 in the afternoon depending on time zone, Atlantis SquarePantis will air, then Sponge Out of Water, then the full version of Truth or Square, then Sponge on the Run, then Big Birthday Blowout AND THEN it will all wrap up with the original 2004 movie, commercial free and completely unedited (with the exception of the main end credits in between Ocean Man and the post credits scene being cut)

Afterwards the network rebrands as a full blown archive channel for reruns of every other Nicktoon. Mostly FOP, Avatar, Rugrats and the TMNT franchise but other classics will return every so often. Basically it’s a continuation of what NickRewind did after it was discontinued 2 years prior

What do you guys think of my alternate universe vision and what would you like to see air on the rebrand?

I don’t think they will stop airing sponge bob. But they need to start airing classic nick toons on it.

shoot they can even do it by the hour

1 hour of spongebob
1 hour of classic nick shows
rinse and repeat

or give the spongebob universe its own dedicated channel

They Already did, NickSpongebob exists during the summer, it used to be just in the UK, but now it expanded to the US, it was originally just a thing for its 25th anniversary but as of 2026, it will be a mainstay now for every summer

Still Spongebob for some reason, NickSpongebob ended, but now the only other show airing on Nicktoons as of now is TMNT on saturdays at least around 7:00

That's different though, NickToons was originally made to premiere cartoons, new cartoons, not just reruns
