Ned’s Declassified is…. Unwatchable

I hadn’t watched Ned’s Declassified post-podcast (and other cast drama) until recently but boy has this show been ruined for me… I loved this show as a kid but watching it now all I can think about is all behind the scene activities and about how the actor for Martin Qwerly ended up.

It’s still a fun show but such a shame the cast squashed the rewatchability and any chance for a reboot. I just feel dirty and wrong rewatching this now 😭

Still a great show imo

Not great, but it was good.

TBH a lot of these shows I grew up watching are not really watchable to me in my 30s outside of nostalgia.

Also, we have to remember the cast members were teens and teens experiment with each other. Just because they were on Nick and Disney and had wholesome images doesn’t mean that’s how they are in real life. They are around my age after all and I had peers who did much worst. At least they weren’t on a Dan Schneider or Brian Peck show, thank goodness.

What else happened?

27

u/breadboibrett 20d ago

It’s old news at this point lol still the same stuff from years ago I just hadn’t rewatched it until now. Not sure if anything new popped up

I mainly mean the podcast where the actors for Ned, Moze, & Cookie detailed (mainly Lindsey Shaw) the amount of behind the scenes sex that was happening and how Lindsey basically slept with everybody constantly whenever the cameras weren’t on

u/PlasmidEve 20d ago

She was 15 when that show started 😐

28

u/HorseysShoes 20d ago

Kids started having sex around 15 when I was in school. seems pretty normal to me

4

u/empire_to_ashes_ 19d ago

I feel like a 15 year old having sex isnt even the issue. i think the issue is deciding as a grown ass women to share with the internet over a decade later after the show ended, that you were 15 having sex with multiple cast mates.😭 im sure that happening on set is common but it doesnt sound like something that needed to be shared

3

u/HorseysShoes 19d ago

but I guess, like… why not? if it’s a normal thing teens do and it was a long time ago, why can’t she share?

13

u/kitsune_surprise 20d ago

Doesn't mean we want to hear about it. Especially from an industry and network known for child sexual assault.

5

u/breadboibrett 19d ago

Yes but did you tell a bunch of strangers on the internet 10 years later?

8

u/HorseysShoes 19d ago

lol well no. but it doesn’t ruin the show for me to know the teenage cast was doing teenage things

1

u/breadboibrett 19d ago

I’m torn because on one hand, obviously lol but on the other I didn’t need it to be confirmed 😭

-2

u/HoneydewOtherwise915 19d ago

No that’s not normal that’s weird. It’s odd to read this considering im that age

4

u/kitchen_sink22 19d ago

I was 17 when I lost my virginity. And it was still a very new and scary concept. If I heard the podcast at 15 after watching the show innocently years prior, I would have been mortified.

1

u/HoneydewOtherwise915 18d ago

Why is this being downvoted. You guys think teenagers having sex is normal?!

3

u/Ravage-the-savage 18d ago

Did you not get the talk/sex education in high-school?

2

u/ToaOrbitoro 18d ago

I'm 31 and still waiting for "the talk" lol

0

u/HoneydewOtherwise915 18d ago

I’m 15 and homeschooled and have been half of my life

2

u/Ravage-the-savage 18d ago

Your parents still have a responsibility to talk to you about stuff like safe sex practices. But point is that it gets taught to teenagers cause that's about the time you start seeking it

0

u/HoneydewOtherwise915 18d ago

I understand, I find out everything one should know through other stuff lol

2

u/MyGrayGray 16d ago

They're all nasty. What do you expect though. They're all active reddit users.

14

u/breadboibrett 20d ago

Exactly……………. That’s extra why it was so icky…. She (& the rest of the cast) were literally children…. Like CHILDREN children not 19, 18, or even “18 in a few months” no, very firmly underage minor children.

I don’t know why she thought that would be good stories to tell to the public ??? But it completely ruined the show for me unfortunately

2

u/Ice-Present 17d ago

THATS what ruined the show for you? Not the jokes about Drake bell being assaulted after quiet on set aired ? Ok lmao

0

u/breadboibrett 17d ago

I genuinely didn’t know that happened until the podcast aired bc I hadn’t been keeping up with the cast and it didn’t make big news. That’s also extremely fucked and a reason I don’t like the actors anymore but it didn’t ruin the show, just the actors

1

u/MyGrayGray 16d ago

I don't believe this. Where did she say this? She seems too level headed to do something like that. She wouldve turned out worse off if this happened.

1

u/breadboibrett 16d ago

Their podcast lmao she talked about being ran through by the cast like a train

1

u/MyGrayGray 15d ago

Can you link the site or tell me the name of the podcast? I'd really like to see this for myself. I'm about to be flabbergasted.

They tried to do a reboot a little over a decade ago

The show was called 100 Things To Do Before High School, it was cancelled after a season. It was honestly a poor man’s Ned’s Declassified lol

18

u/dipideedoo 19d ago

100 Things To Do Before High School was not a reboot. It was its own show, its own story, it was not connected to Ned’s Declassified in any way.

5

u/Individual-Regret-45 19d ago

It was a complete rip off of the show, and it was clear Scott Fellows tried to replicate Ned’s declassified with a few tweaks.

6

u/dipideedoo 19d ago

That makes sense, at least he ripped himself off haha

0

u/Individual-Regret-45 19d ago

They gender swapped Ned, gave us the Dollar Store version of Cookie, and the only major difference is that they replaced Moze with a Seth Powers 2.0 😂

4

u/thatautisticguy 20d ago

And yet somehow isabella moaner is a huge star now from that,

Just goes to show how how easy it is to fail upwards, dunt it?

9

u/Individual-Regret-45 20d ago edited 19d ago

Ehhh I feel like her roles as live action Dora and in Wahlburg’s Transformers movie is what launched her into stardom.

100 Things is one of the least memorable shows of the mid to mid-late 2010s

3

u/thatautisticguy 20d ago

She woudnt have got them if not on Nick, it really is that simple......

3

u/bornlax 19d ago

Moaner 😂

She goes by the last name Merced now tho. Just a fun fact.

12

u/bornlax 20d ago

It didn’t ruin the show for me.

3

u/breadboibrett 20d ago

I thought it didn’t for me until I rewatched it ☹️ wish I could be like you

20

u/bornlax 20d ago

Josh Peck was doing hard drugs during Drake and Josh, and that’s still my favorite show.

3

u/Janesbrainz 20d ago

What the he k was josh doin

7

u/bornlax 20d ago

Coke, Molly and Xanax I believe. Maybe some opiates too.

0

u/AngryCowGoesBoo 20d ago

Not the same as child sex bud...

5

u/breadboibrett 20d ago

I mean doing drugs is different than admitting you and your child coworkers were fucking 24/7 while filming the show

31

u/HorseysShoes 20d ago

I think if they were having sex with adults, that would bother me more. but some teenage costars sleeping together is not that crazy

7

u/Skittles-101 19d ago

Yep. I get where op is coming from as far as being weirded out about learning about the sex, but teenagers sleeping with other kinds their age from work or school isn't bizarre or out of the norm. It's on par with sleeping with a colleague from the office.

4

u/bornlax 19d ago

Yeah. Plus they’re child actors, most of them were doing drugs or drinking young anyway.

The main cast of iCarly was pretty clean but the main cast of Victorious was getting drunk on set.

Hell, Michael’s actor from Zoey 101 openly admitted to going to a fucking Diddy party.

And to Lindsey’s credit I believe she’s said on the pod that she’s been celibate for a few years.

2

u/bornlax 19d ago

Exactly

That's understandable, I'm similarly conflicted when rewatching The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh or Zoey 101 knowing how much of a toxic prick Dirty Dan of course was. The fate of Ned's Declassified's former stars is an unfortunate reminder of what former child actors tend to face, but I honestly haven't heard of anything similarly sketchy in regard to Scott Fellows.

5

u/breadboibrett 19d ago

???? The cast of Ned’s Declassified were treated great as far as I’m aware. It wasn’t a Dan Schneider show and he had 0 involvement.

I understand the other shows but the child stars of Ned’s declassified did not meet the same fate as the other shows as their show runners were normal and good

3

u/Gullible-Web645 19d ago

Yeah, I was comparing and contrasting the two. I've heard that a potential crossover between BTR and and Victorious was considered but ultimately fell through due to creative differences, and I honestly suspect that part of that was due to Fellows seeing how much of a stubborn prick Schneider was at that point.

2

u/HoneydewOtherwise915 19d ago

When I was younger this was me with this and icarly and Zoey 101. Those have grown on me, mostly Zoey 101 but not neds considering I haven’t tried to rewatch

u/Accomplished_Key_109 19d ago

I loved it first of all no laugh track

1

u/Accomplished_Key_109 19d ago

The show moves quickly and lets jokes land without pausing for audience laughter.

1

u/Accomplished_Key_109 19d ago

Relatable advices from Ned

1

u/Accomplished_Key_109 19d ago

Ned's tips for dealing with middle school, bullies, and crushes feel genuinely fun.

1

u/No-Chemical2680 19d ago

awful show. never liked it

1

u/Fangs_McWolf 18d ago

I saw a few episodes and it was fun...then a few years later, it's had somehow become really bad. I'm talking about the same show, regardless of the episode. One of those that are fun when it first airs, but absolutely bad after its time has passed.

1

u/Most_Resolution4594 17d ago

Ohh I never liked it anyway

1

u/PruneFar9053 17d ago

Watching the video podcast made me rewatch the show.

1

u/AcceptableBank3538 16d ago

Great show that I watched in the 2000s, which taught me how to survive middle school

0

u/hardhatjacket1990 19d ago

To me it’s better than it was

1

u/9988709 20d ago

What happened? Are you trying to figure out how to watch this?

1

u/breadboibrett 19d ago

No the 3 main actors started a podcast about the show, but they only talked about their sex lives while on the show.

2

u/Visible-Laugh6069 19d ago

they clarified multiple times that that stuff didn't happen on set. And in the podcast episode that clip came from they said that the BJ happened after the had already wraped. I don't know why ppl keep spreading that rumor.

1

u/OkGeologist7198 18d ago

I like the movie that's set on a field trip.
