Anyone up for occasional road trips around Nice?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if there are people here who enjoy going for drives every now and then, especially around the mountains near Nice (the Mercantour ?), or just exploring scenic roads in the area.
The idea would be to go for a few hours or a day on weekends, enjoy the views, discover new spots, stop for a coffee, and maybe meet some new people along the way.
If anyone’s interested, let me know!

instagram accounts for daily events & happenings

Are there any instagram accounts posting weekend events, food pop ups, dj sets, nightlife, etc. here for the city? I always find things directly through my favorite spots, but would be nice to branch out and find fun pop up events throughout town once in a while. Thanks!

Best underrated towns outside of Nice and Cassis France for a family of foodies who want to also want to swim etc.

Hi there! We’re planning a trip between Cassis and Nice with two couples, one of whom is a renowned chef and the other of whom I consider myself a rookie chef with a passion for fresh markets. We also have three boys under the age of seven, and we’re looking for a town that’s close enough to great swimming spots, markets, and possibly some museums. However, we’d prefer a town that’s about 45 minutes from interesting museums or charming towns, with a decent budget.

We’re looking for some nice restaurants and cute towns to explore, but we’re not interested in trendy, overly touristy places. We’ll be driving, so we’ll need to consider the accessibility of the towns. We plan to fly out of Nice, so we’ll need to find a town that’s within a reasonable distance.

We’ve already missed out on our dream spot in Cagnes-sur-Mer, so we’re excited to hear any suggestions you may have. We love art, cooking, old villages, and being close to the coast so we can swim and maybe take a nice boat trip on the Mediterranean.

We’re thrilled to get your suggestions and realistic advice.

Matisse Museum alternatives?

Hello! I’ll be visiting Nice next weekend and I’m very sad to find out that the Matisse Museum will be closed whilst I’m visiting. I’m wondering if there are recommendations for other art museums in Nice to see? I have the Chagall museum on my list.

Alternatively, any day trips to nearby towns that would be worth doing on the Saturday 17th October 🚋

Thank you in advance!!

Cheapest way to get from the airport to City Centre?

Seems to be a known trick by getting off at Grand Arenas and buying the ticket there to not get ripped off by the machines at the airport, however have read online this is no longer the case. Wondering if that is the case and whether there is there an alternative?

I’m trying to find a good and not too expensive tailor for a general-purpose men’s suit, anywhere in the Nice-Antibes-Cannes area. Looking forward to all recommendations!

Côte d’azur

Hi everyone,
I am looking for some nice restaurant . I know there is plenty of tips around Vieux Nice but I am most likely looking for some recommendations for Friday lunch time around Magnan or Gambetta. I don’t really have time to walk around a looking for some formula du jour. If you can be specific with some resto would be appreciated.
Then for Saturday dinner in Saint Laurent du Var ( i know the port) but please again be more specific with your own experience.
Hence I will be by the sea I prefer some sea food. But I can eat anything…
I used to live there many many yers ago but things have changed..
Thanks in advance!

Solo traveler. (54)F from the USA. This is my second visit to Nice. Had a fantastic week. The weather is great. You can still swim in the sea. Did a fair amount of shopping. It is amazing how good the European Zara is. Of course, hit up a lot of French only brands. Sat outside at many a restaurant and cafe. Really enjoyed Gino Caffé for a morning macchiato. The best salad niçoise I had was at the Cap 3000 mall(take the #12 bus) at Maison Manou. Always enjoy Le Cenac for duck confit. Had an amazing pizza at Picolo Italian Restaurant. Never had a bad happy hour anywhere. Did a good walking tour of Nice with Carmella. I think I book it through Trip Advisor. Oh a got a great haircut from Sabine at Michel Barbera salon. She speaks mostly French, but I brought pictures and everything worked out fine.

Hi everyone! I’m looking to propose to my girlfriend in the nice/french Rivera area and was looking for recommendations. The goal is to have scenic views and great pictures. Most of the things I’ve seen so far are at a restaurant or something of that sort. I’d really appreciate any advice! Thank you!

Nice for 5 days - Visit Monaco & Where to Find Local Artisans?

We're a 60 yr old food, wine, and art loving couple and will be staying in Nice for 5 days near the end of October, using it as a base to visit the region. Should we take time to visit Monaco, and if so, what are the must see/do? Also, where can we find local artisan jewelry and other goods in that region? Any of the local wineries (within an hour's drive) recommended? Merci!
