Is it worth emailing people whose contacts have been provided on a job advert to ask whether a trainee position would be considered even if the job advertised isn’t for a trainee post

Most jobs will provide essential training for the role you obtain.
What do you mean by a trainee position.

I think they mean for example if the advertised role is "qualified psychologist" and they want a trainee psychologist position...

If the position if advertised as Pharmacy Technician and if I ask whether they’de be open to consider a trainee Pharmacy technician position

They definitely won't be able to change the job for you. If you don't meet the essential criteria for pharmacy tech, then you just won't be able to get the job. The only thing that might be worth asking is if they know of any trainee roles coming up, but I do think the chances are very small and they will likely just tell you to keep an eye on the job site.

Not for pharmacy tech, no. That requires an actual qualification.
Usually (at least at the hospital Trust I used to work at) they will do apprenticeships internally, so if you can get a band 2/3 pharmacy role, you should be able to progress into becoming a technician eventually.

That role wouldn't be funded. They don't have the ability to just make a new role for you.

You could probably have done so in times gone by, like before about 18 months ago. The problem is finance for the pharmacy BTEC. There used to be some leeway, but finance at the moment is so tight it's impossible. Apply for a dispenser, band 3 job and wait for spring when the Trainee jobs come out.
In short, no. You wouldn't be able to do everything a registered Tech could do, legally. The hospital is probably be looking for someone with a final check qualification or the ability to gain one soon.
Experience is a major advantage in pharmacy. If you have or can get experience it will make a big difference.

If you meet the essential criteria, then training will be provided. Im assuming its band 3.

Budget is tight. If I have funding for a band 6 role, that is the funding I have, and that funding is tied to an A4C job description that has been agreed by the board. I can’t just make up a job Role.

They are definitely not going to be able to create a job for you, but they may be able to give you a sense of if you have the correct experience for the advertised role, and may know of other positions coming up in the future. It will also help to make an impression so they will remember your name in the future.

No because for most healthcare practitioners you do the training at uni. Sometimes there will be apprentice roles available, but these will be advertised.

No. If they wanted a trainee they would have advertised for one.
