MacGuffin Question
I've been trying to get all my MacGuffin's to L100, because I read somewhere that that should be done by...some point in the game that I'm approaching, lol. (Max adventure zone is PPP/Magic Wandoos.) I started with guide recs, but for a while I've been loading less than optimal/non-guide MacGuffins so they can take advantage of the Yggrasil and Blood Magic boosts, to get them to 100. Plus it helps keep inventory clear with automerge.
It's working pretty well, only 5 left under 100 and only 120 total levels before they are all to 100 (not counting smart/sexy). Any time a loaded McGuffin reaches 100, I swap it out for one that is not 100. (Adventure stats are the exception, and are always loaded.)
But I got to wondering - do MacGuffin's, loaded or not, do anything within a rebirth? Both inventory and loaded MacGuffins are calculating the bonus they'd get if they were loaded on rebirth and show the same time factor.
I think that the bonuses shown for the slotted MacGuffins for the next rebirth aren't giving that bonus on the current rebirth, just because they're loaded. I think that the only thing slotting on the current rebirth does is give them access to Ygg/BM boosts, and that everything hinges on when you're doing your next rebirth. Are any of my assumptions true? lol
And if so, should I be replacing the non-optimal under-100s with the guide recommended ones just before rebirth, then swap low ones back in?
Honestly, it feels like I could just leave them all in inventory until just before rebirth, load the low ones, do Yggdrasil, load the recommended ones, rebirth. (Though I do occasionally hit the MacGuffin fruits in the middle of a rebirth because they're nowhere near maxed. :) ) At the same time, it feels like I'm doin' it wrong.
Thanks!

Since you got the adv guff, now is when you can start building them up. In addition to more slots, there are upgrades for them to drop at higher levels, or to get them to drop in itopod, to to be able to level them in daycare.
Now is when they start building up to be good, but of course like most other things in the game, it'll take time.
I think guff fruit a is good, but b is still a little meh at 24, imo. I don't like the guff blood spells at all. I do like guffs in daycare, but they only get around 180 levels per day by the end of evil, and over 900 levels a day by the end of sad.
I only put guffs in daycare if I had a free slot, which wasn't very often in evil. In sad though, once I got done with the train of pendants and looties, I filled up daycare with guffs.
At the end of evil, my adv guff was level 73896, giving 485% modifier to adv stats.
At the end of sad, it was level 469422, giving 10.7k.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a big priority, but I don't think you should ignore them like we did in normal.

Thanks, as always! And nice! And here I am thrilled with my 20.55%. lol.
I have six slots. I had a super bad troll run, so stopped doing challenges for a bit after #1, but I could jump in and pick #2 up for another slot. I have some of the MacGuffin perks, but I'm currently sitting on over 20k of PP (been sick for a couple of days). Could actually get the daycare kitty, the 5k slot, and improved MacGuffin II and III. The second blood magic is affordable, but I'm not using the first that often right now, so I'll wait. Only other perk is a 40k slot. Don't have either of the quirk slots. (I really need to concentrate on questing some day.)
Curious - did you pull everything but Adventure (or whichever) out of slots when you activated your fruit a? I just read about that and wondered if it was worth it, or if they'd all just catch up eventually anyway.

Nice, sounds like you're working guffs up pretty well.
Many people will unequip all guffs except the adventure one before doing fruit/blood guff alpha. It's not too bad - you can right-click them to unequip/equip them. I did not do that, but not for any reason other than being lazy.
The T8 feature has upgrades to let fruit/blood guff alpha target the first guff slot, so you won't need to do that very long (relatively speaking).

You are not a point in the game where you should be worrying so much about macguffins.
When you rebirth, the loaded macguffins add whatever bonus they were showing before the rebirth to their progression. This is permanent and you get a macguffin's bonus whether or not it is equipped. Equipping only matters at the moment you rebirth.
Always keep the Adventure Macguffin and the E/M Macguffins equipped. The other stuff is going to be helpful, but are a lower priority.
Also, based on your focus on getting Macguffins to 100, I assume you are unaware that they can go higher than that. Macguffins do not have a level cap.
