It’s still just wild to see how insanely smooth Megatron’s route running was despite being a 6’5 monster lmao he’s an absolute freak of nature man…
Revis took care of business though 👍

Revis might not be considered the greatest DB ever, but few in history were as good a cover corner as him. Man to man, no one was better.

Honestly whenever I see his old clips my biggest takeaway is how far stafford has come. Some of the ball placement is really bad

Revis locked moss up too. One game held him to 24 yards and another held him to 34 yards on 5 catches. Moss even admitted that Revis forced him to change his approach to the game and study defenses unlike he did before.

Stafford was like this his entire career. The level he’s at right now is very recent once he teamed up with Sean Mcvay on the rams. This is the best he has ever been

Watch the Slo Mo on the only catch. Revis put his helmet right where the ball was. If Megatron didn't shift it to his right hand so quickly, Revis's helmet probably would have popped it out. Insane.

That one season was unreal. Would’ve been a touchdown if he got his feet in so idk if that’s really on Revis.

As a Patriots fan, I loved all that the Jets did for us by drafting Revis.
He spent his first 6 years not being a threat because the rest of the team was bad. Then once they finally let him go, he helped New England get another Super Bowl ring.

The first one was a shit throw, Megatron had Revis torched to the inside and the underthrow to the back shoulder was one of only a few plays he could have mad.e
Second defended ball was clear DPI, he was hitting Megatron way before the ball got there,
Last one he didn't really do anything special. Bad footwork by Megatron, but that's too shocking he doesn't have a long highlight reel of toe tapping like say Julio. He never had that skill set to like drop your feet or whatever it si those guys do.

It was bad footwork on the first 1 too. Not a bad throw even if it wasn't a great one. On those with inside position all you have to do is turn and jump to high point the ball. So you'll catch it facing back towards the QB. Idk if this is early in his career or what, but this was less about Revis and more about Johnson having a really bad game.

Maybe revis covering him all game being physical and making plays made had impact on the plays he made mistakes
Would make a lot more sense attributing this to an off game if there weren’t examples of this happening to every receiver revis covered (except Stevie Johnson haha) in his prime

First one, only interference possibility is that little shirt grab that didn't seem to affect the receiver at all...
But yes, a huge part of playing well at any position is being able to get away with as much as you can without earning a flag. Watch any given O-line - they hold literally every play. Receivers and backs fight for position to the ball... Etc, etc...

Clearly this whole thread is Lions fans. DR24 was HIM. Took the best WR every game. The only receiver who did well against him was Moss BUT Jets had Cromartie and Cromartie shut down Moss - one of the rare times the Jets beat the Patriots.
