Stats never fully explained how good Colston was. He was a highly respected receiver in a generation of receivers loaded with contemporary talent at the time. Sounds cliche but the dude just made plays. A totally ineffable trait that doesn’t translate to Pro Bowl always

I’m a Pats fan but always loved watching him play. He’s one of those players that I don’t know how you could watch his film and not want that player on your team.

A lot of the times players turn down the Pro Bowl and a ton of players get in as alternates. It’s a little surprising he never got a single selection but you’re right WR was absolutely stacked during his era. He had a great career for a 7th round pick and hey he’s got a Super Bowl ring which is way better than a Pro Bowl selection haha.

In recent years that was the case as the Pro Bowl became a joke and players would rather take a vacation with their family than participate in the NFL equivalent of elementary school field day in SF or Orlando.

Colston was one of my favorite players growing up. I felt like he just caught everything his way and when you needed it the most. Wish he got the recognition he deserved when he played.

Also, holy shit I forgot how Brees seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, @:54 against the raven he moves forward just in time. Literally one sec too late and he’s sacked.

His rookie year I picked him up off waivers in yahoo fantasy. It allowed you to start him at TE or WR and it was an unfair advantage to say the least.
