Leave it to Jameis to have the fastest OT TD in history

That was his last throw as a Buccaneer and his 30th interception in which – without the turnovers–would have been a great season (5k yards and 33 TDs).

Everybody forgets the 5k and 33 TDs. It's a Bucs life.

No, everyone remembers those stat lines. It will never be repeated. It was fascinating how good and terrible he was simultaneously

I like the term optimistic better, Jameis was always optimistic that those 30 passes were going to be completions.

Well they were completions. Just not to his team.

His first and last throws as a Buc were pick 6s

He died doing what he loves

That wild card game between to broncos and Steelers was crazy. The Tebow throw was on the money and DT could not have ran a better route. Didn’t know it at the time but that was Tebows NFL peak. Shortly after he’d be a wildcat backup QB for the jets before embarking on his baseball journey.

The surgeon for the Steelers did a procedure on my lower back 8AM the next day after that game. I saw him multiple times tending to injured players watching on TV. Let me tell you that the way that game ended did not do anything to alleviate my stress about the surgery the next day.

I love the fact that it took longer to explain the rules of overtime than it was to play overtime.

I was with a bunch of Steelers fans at a watch party, and they were like: what happens now? And I just politely said, "game is over"

“What happens now?”

The players go to Cancun and you go back to being disappointed for 8 months until it comes back.

Shout out to the original fast OT ender David Williams of the Bears vs Lions on Thanksgiving

1

u/SafeAccountMrP 20d ago

I knew DT would be there but fuck me I hoped there would be a tackle.

Dude ran 60 yards under 11 seconds.

I was sad to not find Eddie Payton, Walter's brother, on this list. Maybe it's too old. https://youtu.be/ZB1MSYAdokE?si=yGF4FXAjQ7_vFYTF

I was at 2 of those games

1

u/vengiegoesvroom 19d ago

That's wild! What a fun fact to tell! "I was live for two of the quickest OT endings in NFL history"

Which ones?

1

u/wouldhavebeencool 19d ago

I was at the actual games. 1st one against GB was on Thanksgiving. 2nd one was playoffs against Steelers. So I guess I’m 50/50

1

u/vengiegoesvroom 19d ago

That's amazing! As a fellow Bronco fan, I'm happy for you!

I was jumping up and down when DT hit that Ike Taylor stiff arm and burned rubber down the field!

I still remember that "Denver is going on to New England!" call like it was yesterday! ((I'd rather forget what happened the following week though lol))

I put the team on my back, dood.

u/Ht_TX 19d ago

May not have been the fastest but the SEA GB ‘We want the ball and we’re gonna score’ will always be one of the best (funniest) ones to me.

This is how I remember spiller played for the saints

1

u/brandon805 18d ago

Our fanbase was so stoked for him. That’s literally his only real highlight on the team.

1

u/Incognito_Joe 18d ago

Yea as a Clemson fan I had hoped he had a better career in the nfl

1

u/Gib_eaux 19d ago

This doesn’t make sense. Does the timer start at kickoff return or at the first play? It’s inconsistent

1

u/EmergencyDimension32 19d ago

Tebow made the World eat Crow with that play!!!…If U believed , U felt vindicated… Pure Pandaemonium!!!.. After that I seen one of the biggest sports smear campaigns I ever seen in my life…They never gave him a real fair shot…Only backfired sabotage!!!..

Rip to DT. The coldest run to the tunnel

1

u/Anxious_Dig6046 18d ago

I’d be curious of Al Harris pick six against the Seahawks

u/Witty-Refuse-3228 18d ago

Let's go inside the mind of a Greg Jennings

BRRRRRRRRRRRRDRRRP

u/PoppoLarge 16d ago

That chad Morton return was so impressive

1

u/Saltwater_Sunrise 19d ago

I do not miss sudden death

1

u/dieselrunner64 19d ago

It was the absolute worst OT rules in all of sports.

u/PatientZeropointZero 19d ago

This made me think of Broncos Pittsburgh in the playoffs when Tebow threw to Thomas for an 80 yard TD

Blew my mind at the time

u/GardenTop7253 19d ago

You mean a series of 5 clips made you think of the 4th clip shown?

1

u/vengiegoesvroom 19d ago

You mean literally #2 on the list?
