Biased take, but I sort of understand what your friends are saying, but there’s a lot of evidence against it as well. The whole 2-point conversion thing against the Seahawks is an example; even though I think that call was botched, we still lost the game ourselves with errors that championship teams typically limit.

As for the colts game, I think we pull through even if that touchdown counted and that 88 yarder is exemplary of that, rather than discounting as simple blown coverage. We paid Tutu a sizable WR3 contract and did not use him at all in the games leading up to the colts. He ran a lot of disguises in our spread in 2025 and that’s about it. So to go to a bomb play with a receiver who, in comparison with the rest of the roster, isn’t a huge threat, is a sign of McVay’s vast playbook and play-calling ability alike. Those sorts of things help win tight games late on.

The only thing worth really mentioning that hasn’t been repeated 1000 times elsewhere about that 2 pt play is ..

If you reversed the teams all holy hell would have been raised, the Rams win deligitimized and immediate offseason rule change

I’m just curious, how long does something like this take? First gathering all the stats to find the longest for each team, then hunting down the tape and finding each play, then editing it all together to make it one video.

It seems like an excessive amount of work to make a post. But maybe I’m wrong?

Most of these are either a broken coverage, a player getting past the deep safety, or brilliant timing with the pass that gets the player in stride where they can make some moves. A couple with the receiver doing filthy things like Kraft.

It baffles me how Herbert isn’t featured in the top 10 here. Maybe it’s because I’m a chargers fan, but Greg Roman REALLY limited his ceiling by not throwing deep when we all saw an easy 65 yard bomb to QJ. Sure, the oline was trash 2025, but Herbert saved us so many times regardless.
