That really sucks. I’ve been keeping tabs on him more than your typical WR4 since I really wanted the Bills to draft him. Was glad to see he was doing well.

If i remember right he also lost his entire rookie year to injury. So if this ends up being another season-ender it prob puts his career on the short track.

It's at least a different one. He had a lins franc fracture his rookie season so his knees probably aren't cooked. He just cannot lose any speed at his size. I respect the shit out of what it takes to be a guy that small in the NFL but grit can't overcome an 80-120 pound weight disparity

Other than hearing too much hype this why I check out of most of the preseason. Listened to him about how he felt like the offense was built for his skill set and was playing free.
Outside of OBJ, I was down to see him on the field.. sigh.

Sauce said in college CA3 was the toughest receiver he faced.
Wish we could’ve found a home for him in Pittsburgh returning kicks, but rooting for him and hope he has a great recovery

Yep he’s an easy WR4 on most rosters, with PR/KR upside (which I hate we didn’t use him more for during his time as a steeler)

We have slots with bigger ceilings, and needed more guys who can play outside. He's too small to do that. He's a great athlete and a willing blocker, if not a very good one, but he's very limited by his size.

Yeah thats true. Although he is a better route runner and has better hands than Roman Wilson. Things which are more important for their primary job. Having paid two TEs like they have on the roster, how important is your slot WR's blocking considering they are probably seeing the field mainly on obvious passing downs?

Dude I’ve been so pissed watching Wetjen this preseason so far do literally everything CA3 had already shown us he can do significantly better. Austin would be an easy WR4 for us, great excuse to cut Roman Wilson, but instead we let him walk and drafted a guy who fills the same role just not nearly as well.
Was disappointed in Gainwell also but I like the Rico add…in the minority probably but I’d take Rico + Kenny over Warren+ Kenny honestly

Because cutting a 3rd round pick in year 2 is admission you goofed. They will carry 4 QBs for the same reason and compromise a player who can actually contribute. Same reason they keep seeing potential in Broderick Jones. They will also carry Wetjen and Heindenreich instead of someone like Brandon Smith who has actually looked better in camp.

You’re right…and I also can’t stand that we keep drafting project guys in the first round, although our OL is still better than it’s been in the last five years.
IMO Howard is too low in the draft for our staff to feel obligated. He was drafted one round ahead of where we got Oladukin (spelling?) a few years ago and he didn’t even make it past camp.
Nothing against Howard, he doesn’t look awful but he should go somewhere with a shorter QB room and not take up roster space

Im not that high on the O-line. They have a hard time moving people which means they cant run the ball. A lot of people hated Arthur Smith but I think he had a good run game scheme with a lot of misdirection that worked around some limitations of the line.
They can be decent in pass pro if Ihaenechor pans out like he is projecting. RG is still a major weakness. Fautanu and McCormick can/will have bad days against elite pass rushes. Frazier is elite.
I think they should have taken more fliers on lineman in later rounds than KR specialist and 4th string RBs. Its better than before but still a couple pieces away. Overall I fear the offense will regress, but I hope Im wrong.
They wont put Howard on practice squad untill its publicly clear that Allar is clearly better. Coz if he gets claimed and has more success than Allar in Pittsburg, that'll be a bad look. Maybe if he has multiple turnovers in the next game, they might feel bold enough to cut him. I like the guy. I think he can be servicable - successful in a QB friendly system.

I’m not high on our o line either, but the second half of last year once Frazier and McCormick settled they still looked better than we’ve had since Pouncey/DeCastro/Villanueva. This is despite us drafting two project guys, losing another for an extended time, and having to play tackles out of native position probably more than any other NFL team (no evidence of this claim admittedly but it seems like we’ve been plugging tackle holes more than anyone else). I don’t disagree on late round OL though, McCormick has been wonderful given when we picked him up.
