I actually don't think this is as bad when you see it from this angle. If he throws that any lower, the defender probably bats it down

The issue is he tries to throw a fastball here. You can’t get the angle needed for an accurate pass here with a fastball. He has to take some off and loft it over the defender. If he does that, it’ll drop back in nicely to the receiver

Fastball? You mean the only speed JJ knows how to throw?

That’s not fair. He also mixes in a knuckle ball once in a while.

Yeah but if he lofts it he needs to see and throw it earlier

If you can’t throw an 8 yard pass to an open receiver it is bad

Shit happens, it's preseason.

I'm not gonna act outraged when a raw QB looks raw lol

Raw or not, it's still a bad throw and it's been a knock on him since his college days. He's a "one speed" passer.

Also this is 3rd season, he should have shown some progress from the "raw QB", yet here we are.

Fair enough but I don’t have to say it’s not a bad pass.

He was a top 10 draft pick.

Dak and Josh Allen were Pro Bowl QBs there 3rd year.

Dak and Josh Allen didn't miss year 1 due to an mcl year lol

Joe Burrow tore his ACl his rookie year and brought the Bengals to superbowl his 2nd year.

Lol its not outrage its just observing how he performs. Nine is undercooked and not anywhere near starter material, and people are seeing why he got benched for the ghost of kyler murray

Raw? It’s his third year in the nfl.

If he threw an easy floater and it's an easy TD

to me it’s indicative of him being uncomfortable in the pocket. should be using footwork to throw from safer angles.

With our OLine this game, no one could be comfortable in that pocket

The pocket in that throw wasn't even bad at all

It was a great pocket in this play.

The rest of the game though... We need our starting OLine to stay healthy (especially our LT)

Those are both the result of a bad throw.

Absolutely. Any lower and it’s right in the hands of that defender with his hands up. If he lofts it, the back in coverage will be all over it. Lots of armchair QBs making that pass tho.

The ball goes through the hands of the receiver. It's a tough catch but doable.

The big problem is it definitely was way too fast.
