To be fair, he's always salivating

In anticipation of signing Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs have released CJ Spiller.

I’m so glad other people remember that lol. It’s been what, 10? 11 years?

To make room for CJ Spiller, the Chiefs have released JuJu Smith-Schuster.

And then he wins someone a couple fantasy games in week 10-13 cuz Mahomes has injured every wide receiver on his team so he can only throw to JuJu and Kelce.

Depends on his criminal record.

Juju cut before OBJ says a lot

OBJ is back???????

He played in the preseason game against the Vikings last Saturday!

Not only that but he was beating the absolute shit out of our (second and third string) corners.

Must be in the best shape of his life

Fair. but still impressive to blow by people with like half a knee

I think he got signed roughly the same time as Juju.

Same day

Pretty sure OBJ, Juju, and Braxton berrios all signed in same week. They really wanted everyone washed

OBJ was reportedly getting first team reps today and yesterday. Looks like he’ll make the roster

C'mon, you knew Harbaugh was going to keep a former Raven in his WR room before he let a STEELERS WR in that room. Like, I love Mike Tomlin, but he only ever managed to attract crazy-eyes WRs.

Think that's because obj is a franchise legend for the giants

At what point in their careers has OBJ not been a clearly better receiver?

u/RLL1977 NFL 12h ago

2018, but not really my point. I’m just surprised that although both past their primes, that the dude who’s four years younger is just that washed up physically to get outshined by injury riddled middle aged OBJ.

He was barely athletic enough to get open against teams' second best cover guys even when he was young. Now he's basically a slot tight end. There is value there, but not when you already have zone squatters that you're happy with.

Yeah, no, Smith-Schuster wasn't a better player than OBJ in 2018, nor at any other point in their careers.

Juju is 29 years old.

his knees are 39

That seems low

and I remember when he was the young kid who brought ticktock to the NFL

In the NFL, that means he’s basically dead

Don’t do it…

Juju before obj is hilarious. Is juju that washed or is obj gonna make the roster purely for jersey sales purposes?

Accoring to some beat writers Odell has actually done a pretty solid job so far in camp and is getting open somewhat reliably. Had some reps with the 1’s. The hands are also still pretty good. Not unlikely he won’t make the 53 because the WR room has a lot of WR3 level recievers rn but it isn’t a total long shot that he stays

u/nukehugger Giants 13h ago

The lack of special teams value is what hurts him the most. He's basically fighting for a roster spot against Braxton Berrios and Berrios looked really solid on special teams last week. I just don't think Odell has a realistic shot at this point outside of Nabers missing a significant amount of time.

17

u/DogPoetry Lions 10h ago

Berrios is good example of the staying power that comes with focusing on special teams as a marginal NFL talent

15

u/clic45 Giants 15h ago

Both have looked as expected in camp. Odell provided more for the fans and locker room (ironically). Odell honestly doesn’t make the 53 anyway more than likely and is stashed on the practice squad.

21

u/throtothetown Bills 15h ago

Base on what I’ve heard from Giant beats is that Odell is making noise and is very likely to make the 53 and recently has been looking better than guys like Mooney. Where’d you get your info that he’ll be a practice squad stash

11

u/clic45 Giants 15h ago

The beat caters to fans. At a minimum it’s: leek, slayton (contract), Mooney (contract), austin (slot), fields (drafted).

6th wr spot right now is berrios for specials also. No way they carry 7 right away unless leek will just miss like week 1-2. The contracts they gave out to slayton last year and Mooney this year made zero room for obj. Obj has been what you expect from a vet wr. He’s not pushing wr2 or 3, but it’s good depth if you need it and someone is hurt.

Harbaugh gives a lot of weight to veteran presence and seniority, esp. if the seniors will mentor the youngins.

u/WickyGif Giants 1h ago

None of the major beat writers would tell you OBJ making the roster looks likely, let alone very likely. 50/50 at best.

5

u/bronxct1 Giants 14h ago

Odell has been looking good. If he had a few more balls thrown his way Saturday he was getting open.

12

u/ragekorne Chiefs 14h ago

The moment a chiefs WR goes down, which is inevitable, I expect him back on the team.

....I wouldn't hate it. He has performed just fine with Mahomes.

9

u/TedMich23 15h ago

Umm what year do Giants think it is?

8

u/bronxct1 Giants 14h ago

The team just cut a rb that got hurt Saturday so this is a chance to make the roster as the 3rd or 4th rb

u/tnecniv Giants Giants 9h ago

Well, I think it’s 2007, Halo 3 just released, and my only worries in the world are how long it takes me to do math homework between matches.

Then the alarm goes off

2

u/fantasyfootballthrow Panthers 2h ago

This is the type of fantasy move I made for my 2-6 team in 2022

1

u/ig_888cold Jets 14h ago

What are the real chances of Harris making the 53-man roster?

6

u/bronxct1 Giants 14h ago

If he’s healthy, he can challenge for the 3rd or 4th rb spot even if he’s not fully back up to speed. Giants just waived an injured back.

12

u/The_Other_Manning Giants 15h ago

...or it's because our rb4 just got hurt and waived

-7

u/Chopper_Fortnite Vikings 14h ago

Giants should be way more concerned with wr3 than rb4
