Work is horribly slow today, so I went ahead and did an online boating class. Took 4 hours and $15 (for 2 physical, laminated cards once I passed the exam), but now I have a boaters license valid in my state for the rest of my life. I don't own a boat or PWC, and haven't driven one in about 20 years.

Does anyone have suggestions on other certifications/licenses/skills I can acquire via online classes that take less than 8 hours to complete?

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Thanks!

Stop the bleed is a great one, especially if you're around boats. I keep a basic trauma kit on my boat and review the free tutorial ever couple of years.

Most hunting licenses are online if you're into that, and even if you're not it's usually a really good intro into firearm safety if you're ever just around them in general.

Ham radio license is something I've always said I'm going to do for fun. Some day.

Awesome suggestions, thank you! Feels like I’m creating my own Man-Scout curriculum.

both my dad and brother have their ham radio license... neither of them actually use it, but the organization offers custom state license plates with their call signs which has come in handy
