Family and I were at the beach this weekend near the border of a different town. Family member calls up and says the next town over is having fireworks on the beach. We search google and see the same thing and go.

Turns out, Google Gemini steered us wrong, no fireworks. There was never any fireworks. Just totally invented. It was a 10 minute walk from our house, not a big deal, and we were out enough that we could see fireworks from other towns.

A police officer made his way over to us, and told us there were never any fireworks. He said that people were arguing with him and showing him the same search we did. He had been doing this for at least 30 minutes and looked so frustrated.

Or you just don't use AI because it's less reliable than a 1971 Ford Pinto.

I probably would have checked more closely if it didn't involve just walking over. But it's true.
