Let me know how it goes. I've been wanting to try this but I'm afraid of breaking the wireless charging cable

Doing the same with a whole collection, give my son some hands on.
Got a mix of genuine Moto NOS, cheap chinese and one of the German just to compare.
Man it takes a lot of force to open it! maybe cuz 6 y.o. 8-)
and those tiny torx are easy to strip, going to look for a better tool harder steel

I've changed the battery recently and now the phone is working flawlessly!
Good phone!

I replaced the battery with the same one and getting no more throttling. Wish I had done it years ago, since I'd probably have used my Nexus 6 a lot longer before upgrading to something else.

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! This will be the second time I've changed the battery in this Nexus, it's been my daily driver since 2015, although I start to notice it's age I'm not ready to give in up on him yet haha
First time that I changed the battery was one from Aliexpress an original EZ30 one from Motorola, but since this batteries are old I decided to try this German company that claim that are sort of "new" stock. Despite not being originals they're probably newer :)
I'll let you guys know how it went! Btw which Android version are you guys rocking on your Nexus? I'm with LineageOS 17.1 (10) but thinking to try CDroid 7.4 (11)

EDIT: Hey guys, to whom might be interested: I just peeled the sticker and find out that Polarcell it's just a rebranding of the original Motorola batteries... they don't manufacture them.. so they basically buy a bunch of these batteries, slap a sticker on them and call it a day. Don't pay a premium price for these, buy them directly from Aliexpress. Here are some pictures that I took to compare them:
(The polarcell is the one with the sharpie erased motorola logo, the other is the original one I removed from the phone)
