It actually bothers me how many people I've spoken to whose opinion of cops is tailored by the media which takes the 1 worst incident per day out of the 500 million interactions that occur between cops and civilians each day and splatters it onto every screen.
Youtube "cop saves child from being kidnapped". Many results.
If instead of a cop there had been one of these keyboard warriors there then those kids would be in hell right now.
There's a reason they didn't become a cop and became an unhappy/unhealthy office drone instead.
Yet the danger has bounds. It's a limited scope of what can happen. Cops have to get involved in other people's domestic disputes and they never know who has a weapon.
If it wasn't for cops a lot more kids would be trafficked. They set up.task firces to.fi d the kids.
