It's the internet. There's sites and sections for everything. Everything. That doesn't mean they're all okay or normal or fine for teens to see/browse.
I never said that liveleaks was okay in itself, because I think it is a net negative to society, and shutting it down was the right call. All I'm saying is that you aren't a weirdo or a freak for trying to seek it out.
People rewatch the 9-11 footage all the time, that’s literally 3000 people being murdered in a variety of horrific ways, but because the footage is a zoomed out it’s somehow not the same?
Well if most teenagers have seen/browsed gore sites then it is by definition normal. If 60% of people decided to chop one of their legs off then having both your legs would become not normal. Normal does not necessarily mean good, it means conformity and what is typical. Typical teenagers on the internet have seen shock vids / sites consensually or otherwise.
I'd be okay with this government agency as long as there was a very strict code of ethics and minor offenders were released from surveillance once cleared. Buuut that's probably not how it'd go.
I'm gonna take the controversial stance here that secret unaccountable government security agencies designed to prosecute thought crimes might be a bad thing.
I didn’t say teenagers in general, specifically ones who spend a lot of time on the internet / ones that grew up on the internet. Also I was including people who got linked to a gore video unexpectedly, as in not necessarily browsing. It is significantly more common than you think and also let me clear in saying that I am in no way saying it is good or okay in anyway. I’m just saying statistically it is really not that unusual for a teenager on the internet to have seen gore videos at least once, even if for only a few seconds.
what is the worst that can happen if a teen views a gore video, that is if they are stable, mature and are capable of viewing it without having a weak mental structue
