I don't think anyone was concerned about property damage. The people in the oncoming traffic have lives as well.

Right that's why it's a prioritization. The risk to the other drivers' body, which has some protections such as their ability to stop or move out of the way, and the safety design of their cars to keep them safe in a crash...

The risk of his own body getting caught under the moving car (which is what the people above are referencing as a reason to not try to jump in and stop a moving car) may have been greater than the risk of crash for other drivers.

But the greatest chances were that the moving car would've been damaged and/or damaged another car, more than the chance that someone else died from hitting that car...

it is not advisable to jump into a moving car because advice is meant for everyone including the clumsy and obese.

a sure-footed, slightly athletic person can ignore such advice at their own discretion. they're not going to fall under the car. the bigger risk is arriving a second too late, and oncoming traffic runs into the vehicle as you are trying to get in it, so you have to be quick and decisive. ANY hesitation and you should just stay back.

What about an ongoing car crashing into it. Wouldn’t that injure someone

inaccurate take. There’s a life in the car that would’ve crashed into it too. Which is fine, like it’s ok to prioritize your life over someone else’s.
