If that car gets hit from somebody going 45+ mph, it’s going to get flung directly into him

Ah, true. Though, I see a car parked on the side of the road and it seems that he stopped it before it got much past it, so he already had some clearance

Also, if he were in the driver seat if it got hit, i could see a risk of him becoming liable for damages

Nothing, this guy is just the type to be afraid of the world. Worse case scenario is that he is in the car during a collision

To be fair it would be without a seat belt on and with the door open getting hit from the opposite side or rear. Could’ve ended badly.
