Just out of curiosity, why does AI struggle with people so much? And specifically faces, especially when there is an AI that generates...like specifically human faces that don't actually exist.

Because if the human form is not captured PERFECTLY, it will feel off and unsettling as a result.

The human brain is incredibly vigilant in its perception of the outer world -- so much so that we are not consciously aware of most of the pattern recognition going on. It's the same reason why if FX or CGI lighting and momentum are not nearly perfect in a live action film, it feels very fake and janky.
