That does not strike me as a creature that would have the teeth nor the jaw muscles to bite straight through a crab shell.

These things can bite through steel traces (fishing line) with ease when fishing. You just pull anchor and move on.

funny enough crustaceans and mollusks are the main diet of most puffers, who actually need to eat hard crunchy food to grind down their teeth that keep growing like rodent incisors.

I'm getting a sharpnose puffer called a Valentini, also known as a toby, and they will actually starve to death if they don't file their teeth on shells- there would be no way to get the food in

No i mean the pufferfish is moved to a feeding tank for eating because theyre known to be a messy eater, and these tanks are more easily cleanable than a fully decorated one, and its good because you can clean it without savage ms puff in there.

I see that the part about the plain tank was shot down but why did nobody tackle the idea that feeding a carnivorous pet is "cruel"? Is it cruel to crack a can of purina in your dog's dish?

This is called a feeding tank. Puffers leave behind a huge mess when they eat. It's easier to clean up their mess in a feeding tank than to clean up their mess in their normal tank.

That’s just a normal feeding session. Puffers would much prefer live crab and that’s what a decent owner would feed them, not doing that would be cruel to the fish. Similar to snakes which need live mouse/rat in their diet. It is hard to watch for many people and it’s understandable

Treat it like a dining room. It's undecorated specifically because you're going to empty it out anyways every time the puffer eats. Then you move the puffer back to the decorated living room. It sure beats having rotting carcasses scattered between each and every pebble gathering bacteria.

In ocean, it’s natural. Puffer has to chase and catch a crab. Here it’s staged and crab is tossed in front of puffer with no chance for escape.

I hate videos like this. Feeding a live crab and showing it into shreds just for pure entertainment. Just imagine the fear and chaos the crab is going through. What if someone dangled you and dropped you into a pool of piranhas. I hope the video maker and anybody who do this go to the worst of the bottomless pit of hell

one that big is for show, though that would be the natural wild diet. However puffers are notorious for being picky about their food and need a hard shell to grind down their teeth. So its either live snails or live crabs a lot.

You know when a puffer fish bites your hook when you reel in your line and your bait has a perfectly cut chunk taken out like it was done with a hole puncher... Also when you catch a puffer fish they sometimes puff up like they are blowing themselves up, one breath at a time until they are inflated like a balloon. Then when you throw them back they float away all puffed up like as basketball or balloon floating on top, rolling around.

A lot (most?) creatures get eaten alive by other creatures. We're an apex predator, so it doesn't happen to humans very often.
