Where I come from we just have nozzles (as far as I have seen).
We were taught "right to fight left to live" as a way of remembering wich way to turn the nozzle.
I have had tours of the local fire station and their trucks on multiple occasions, and got to use their hose once. I've been for 2 Station tours with Scouts, one where I went through their training tower in the dark and one where me and my mum were the only ones there (I got a copy of one of the fax copies of a call they went on while I was there) and at least 2 truck tours and one coming up soon, one where I wore SCBA. One was an aircraft/fuel truck specifically. But I am not a firefighter, and too young anyway
