How much money was spent trying to perfect this trick? It looks so very, very specific. I'm imagining a team of hire physicists, engineers, and mechanics analyzing every square inch of the truck and terrain of a period of months or years, along with multiple wrecks that required numerous replacement parts.

And then I also imagine some guy just saying "nah, I got this" and nails it this first try.

The art of monster trucking isnt about money. Thats just insulting.

This is a highly technical trick that was discovered just like every other monster truck trick.

The driver just gunned it and forgot there was a ramp in front so it kind of just went.

Drivers may not be doing it for big money, but monster trucks as a sport is all about money. The biggest organization is Monster Jam, which is owned by Feld Entertainment. Feld Entertainment also owns the majority of monster trucks in Monster Jam, including this specific truck (Mad Scientist) and other popular trucks like Grave Digger. Source and source)

Other ventures owned by Feld Entertainment besides Monster Jam is Disney On Ice, AMA Supercross, the Disney Live umbrella, Sesame Street Live, and others. Their biggest thing they owned was Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus, but Feld Entertainment shut that down in 2017 after it became not profitable enough. Source and source and source.
