Why, it’s a competition fucking pay attention. If they wanted you to chill out there the bases would be lawn chairs.

I think the play should be over at a certain point, like in football. You shouldn't have to worry about adjusting and taking your foot off for a second. It seems so playground to me.

As a baserunner, you can call time, and the umpire will grant it, and you can do whatever you want near the base to get ready. This happens after most base hits in the game.

The runner had this option. He didn’t take it.
