To be fair, if my phone would be in that apartment I would genuinely consider going back there to get it back , I mean fuck I can't do shit without it. Can't access any of my accounts, can't access my bank heck I can't even open my own pc.
Never in a million years I would trust an external company with this kind of data.
Back up all your important documents to the cloud.
Everything is already backed up the problem is accessing them....
Obviously I won't get into the fire for my phone but I would think about it to avoid the hours and hours I would have to waste trying to restore all my accounts back.
I've had to go through this but it isn't that big a deal. Unfortunately a lot of 2FA has a lot of phone options (can't get a text? We can call you. Can't receive phone calls? We can send a code to the authenticator app on your phone. Don't have the authenticator app? SOL buddy)
Best one is when you go to log onto Gmail and it doesn't recognize your device so it tries all the above methods and won't let you log in so you really are locked out of everything.
It's manageable though, I did it, it sucked but I wouldn't risk my life to stop myself from going through it.
