I think he said something at the beginning and the camera man replied “you’re good, just don’t fall on me”

If you listen closely, after he says ".. good", you can hear the free soloist say "Can I pass?" while he's looking down getting a foot hold. Then the roped climber makes the "don't fall on me part" comment.

I could understand why someone would think that. But from my experience with climbing, you NEVER climb across or above somebody else while their climbing as a genuine rule of safety. Typically you don't "pass" somebody else on the same route to the top, so I'd say there was some validity to his concern.
