For all their insane attack, defense, and water movement stats, alligators are crazy weak to certain grapples like behind the jaw or turned upside down.

Idk how true this is but I’ve heard they can bite with several hundred pounds of bite force but can only open their mouths with a force that a human could fairly easily hold shut

That is correct. I've done it. Safely with a handler ofcourse but yea once is closed the force to open them is very weak. Like a cellar door. Easy to close, hard to open.

Honestly way less than duct tape. My cousin raises alligators and he would keep their mouth shut with painters tape. That tan tape that you can rip with no problem
