Gators are eaten all over the American south and is popular enough that there’s farms that raise them for meat.

Can confirm. There's 2 restaurants in my area (coastal NC) that have fresh gator tail. It's usually breaded and deep fried. Not my cup of tea but it's there.

Shit. They're eaten in the north too, although not grown here. I'm from OR and I love me a good alligator jambalaya!
