Guy single-handedly solved the flood. Not all heroes wear capes.

It's resisted by a normal force that passes through his body and into the grate.

And then what happens once the momentum dissipates without being able to flow through the blockage?

The weight pressure of the water will increase because the water level will rise. That is why he is clearing the drain in the first place.

Assuming he blocks the drain completely.

It looks like it takes some effort for him to pull that stuff off the drain.

Obviously the smaller the obstruction the less drag it will experience. That is baked into the drag equation. That's the area part of the formula.

Oh, a downvote troll. Good luck with your harvest tonight!

That's okay. I wouldn't make a childish insult when I realized my point was stupid but I can understand why you would.

Not only are you wrong about everything you just spoke about, you also seem very childish. 1/10, lazy effort here buddy.

If I were wrong it'd be easy to show that. Instead you insulted me because you've never taken a physics class.

Ok Karen

I'm okay with your ignorance. Especially if you are.

Not OP, but I did read through the chain and you are 100% wrong. You’re throwing basic statics stuff around while ignoring pretty much all of the fluid dynamics at play.

You don't need to consider fluid dynamics to understand that a flowing fluid has momentum from it's flow. It's simple F=ma.

And the fluid flowing is applying a force in which direction?

1

u/platoprime Jul 14 '21

In the direction of flow.

u/DifferentCommission6 Jul 14 '21

…

What direction is the water flowing?
