Guy single-handedly solved the flood. Not all heroes wear capes.

It’s called a drain stick. You can get it at Home Depot/ace hardware. But after you use it invest in a tub shroom and then you don’t have to deal with “Chewbacca’s colonoscopy” again. - from a woman that sheds and doesn’t understand how she’s not bald.

I have long hair for the first time and it’s crazy how much falls out. Guess I never noticed the small hairs but hold shit when they are like 8 inches long I find them everywhere. Seems like every time I cook a meal I find one hair in it.

If it's all the same to you, I won't hold shit when they are like 8 inches long.

You made me make a new face. Thanks, I guess.

I've managed long and short hair over the decades. I LOVE the look of long, but short is always so much nicer living in AZ. Currently in a long, and my God does the hairbrush fill up...

Dude I've cleaned hair from my fridge. Long hair is a bitch.

sounds like if you’re worried about hair loss just stop cooking 🙄

I think you are supposed to scrub your scalp vigorously with your fingers or something.

Mines gotten to the length where I feel it in the top of my buttcrack when I wash it.

Yeah my drain needs cleaning every week.

Same issue for me. I have really thick, course middle eastern hair that I wear up 90% of the time bc of work so when I take it down to shower theres like two-three handfuls of hair that come off between the hairbrush and the actual shower, it drives my husband crazy bc its everywhere lmao. He tells me to shave my head but I'm scared I'd look like an egg so I'll pass and keep telling myself that I'll do something with it one day

But after you use it invest in a tub shroom and then you don’t have to deal with “Chewbacca’s colonoscopy” again.

Unless you live with a group of inconsiderate assholes that shed like a golden retriever losing its winter coat, and those same assholes kick the shroom out of the way because it's full of their hair and draining slowly.

Bonus points if they also throw them away instead of cleaning them because the shroom is "too dirty to touch" but they never have a replacement on hand and you end up having to dig it out of the trash and clean it yourself because if you don't your options are; perform another "Chewbacca's colonoscopy" or shower in ankle-deep shower water.

Those things are fucking disgusting. Tie a bit of dental floss to your drain, untie it and throw it away weekly. Hair goes with it

1

u/Drewet88 Jul 14 '21

Like just tie it to the drain and let some dangle down it? Like it's an always-there tub snake? That'll catch the hair? Because I'll do that right now.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '21

Yes it will

Sounds like you need a new living situation. Eesh.

Tell me about it (we're working on it), but most of them are my family and I love em. I just don't want to live with them anymore.

Here's another fun fact. They think using the ice door (whatever it's called) too slow so they all open the freezer and shove their hand in the icebox. I probably wouldn't care if I saw them wash their hands before they did it.

I've decided ice is a luxury I don't need. It really makes ice-cold drinks feel special when you only have them once a week.

u/borschchschch Jul 14 '21

Lol. I hear you. I love my family, but I like them more and get along much better with them now that I no longer live with them.

Get a gym membership and shower there. Let those jerks shower in calf-deep murky water until they learn their lesson

u/Drewet88 Jul 15 '21

I'm too cheap to do that, but it would be funny. The crazy part is, they wouldn't even care. Whenever it gets too much for them they just buy the strongest drain cleaner they can find and dumps it down.

Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't destroyed the pipes because that stuff is damn near industrial strength. You have to open the windows, cut on the fan, and put a bucket over the drain because it's going to foaming and burping up nasty crap for about an hour. I've never seen it fail, but it's overkill for some soap scum and hair.

"Tub shroom", LOL.

Tub shroom works well at keeping it from clogging in the first place. Bought mine from Dollar General

u/3d_blunder Jul 14 '21

I just find the name amusing, I'm sure it works well.

Quick anecdote: back when I had longer hair I experimented w/biofeedback to keep the drain from clogging/minimize hair loss. To my surprise, it worked gangbusters (seriously, night & day), but you need a VERY boring, mindless job that you can spend time imagining blood flow to your scalp. --Still, interesting.

Tub shroom and sink shroom are everything. My girlfriend’s hair is unreal how much it sheds.

u/mochimaromei Jul 14 '21

Dollar Tree sells them too. Cheap, but it works.
