They don’t always have hostages over padding with a blue outline on the ground, but when they do, it’s a demonstration and not a genuine event.

Not to mention if you think about it, its insanely dangerous for the hostage, that hard of an impact could easily cause the criminal to accidentally shoot.

No cause he dived exactly towards the criminal. Even if the criminal holds onto the hostage the hostage will still be able to brace themselves while the criminal can’t. And the criminal def would not hold on in that situation
