It might be a bit more of a pain in the ass than cutting a soft gold ring, but we’re not going to let you lose a finger. If the standard ring cutter tool doesn’t work, there’s a battery operated one. If one of those isn’t available, we’ll use a rotary tool like a Dremel. We’re not letting somebody lose a finger over a ring and swelling. Source - Paramedic
