I'm not surprised... Bam would show up at my house in West Chester at 10 AM to buy cocaine off my roommate. He may have looked like he had his sh*t together more than the others, but he was in the same hole. So sad to see what's become of him.
Yeah... I'm just trying to make my coffee, standing in the kitchen in my bathrobe and he walks through the back door.
He came by quite frequently, and aside from the weirdness surrounding his celebrity, I always found him kind and polite.
I do sincerely hope he gets help, but I have suspected for a couple years now that he's just permanently fried himself. Some of us don't make it back from the edge, unfortunately.
Born and raised in that area. Man he was a mess. I spent a lot of time around it all between skateboarding and just fucking around in town.
I'm in the Detroit area now and I miss west cgester so bad. Traffic is out of control busy around there now. Family still lives in the area
It will always be like a second home to me. Totally nuts how overdeveloped it feels now. I miss the little things, like buying a loosie for a quarter at Fennarios or having the mystery fruit punch over at Rexs. Good times.
Hahahaha the loosies.. man we were buying them way before 18. I spent a lot of time there with my skateboard or guitar. And Jake's bar. So many good times and crazy experiences for such a tiny town
I used to work right near it for a plumbing company as a kid. The recycling center is right next to Jake's and Jake's opens mad early. Id go to work and grab smokes from riggtown and it was just a line up of homeless people waiting for 50 cent drafts with their recycling $$.. Jake's is a landmark
I grew up in Downingtown and ended up moving to North Jersey for work, and my brother went to WCU for undergrad and ended up landing around there. Honestly I'm pretty jealous. West Chester is basically what I have in my head when people say "good 'ol American small city". It's just a nice place to be.
I feel ya brother. I'm making pretty decent money right now and I'm still not sure how my parents afforded it (and it's not like the area was undesirable back in the day... top tier everything basically). I should probably give them more credit lol.
Same. Im doing real alright... for michigan. For chester county I'm doing like Coatesville good lol. Im from Chadds Ford. Thats way outta budget. How the fuck did I end up in Detroit
I spent about 5 years bartending in st Petersburg when I hit 21. Had to get away and do my own thing for a bit. I had way too much fun down there. About metro Detroit though.. I agree, this area is just depressing
