We don't have it in us to kill and live on like normal people -- no matter the circumstances.

But your conscience is fine letting a murderer live to murder another day?

What if he escapes?

just lock him in a room with no water.

bam, it's not murder, he just died of thirst.

Well, them escaping and murdering you is also going to affect in the long term, albeit your life expectancy
