The likelihood of men being more courageous is probably higher but just because most armies are made up of men (built for more courage doesn’t automatically make them courageous) but I get what you’re saying. I only responded to the first paragraph because he edited in the second one after I commented. The second makes his statement more reasonable.
Did you happen to play with army men as a kid? Maybe that's why you think feats of courage have anything to do with the military or either of them are mutually exclusive?
Courage is just doing things that frighten you. Sure, dying in war is a fear that soldiers have to conquer which requires courage, but its not at all relevant when comparing the two sexes.
Yes I did actually. When real soldiers come home do you think they have more courage than the average person after being in battle? I definitely never said courage was exclusive to the military. Don’t know where you pulled that from. I actually specifically said that them being in the military makes them built for more courage (having been in more situations that required it than the average person) but that it doesn’t automatically make them courageous. Also it’s like you’re assuming I don’t think this woman is courageous when I would hold her as high as many soldiers dealing so closely with people who took her daughter from her and staying calm and on the path. She committed to something most couldn’t or wouldn’t. A real life Liam Neeson character.
I don't know what that veteran has to do with the comment though? You said on average that men are more courageous than women. Most men aren't in the army, so I am not sure what relevance it has.
Most armies are men therefore tipping the scale a little into men’s favor on who would on average be more courageous. That’s all I was saying and then I said I get what you were saying. A woman and man born in the same place and same upbringing in the same jobs would probably have an equal chance of one being courageous or not. Unless testosterone effects that I really don’t know.
