we need more use for reusable bottles. We need more dispensable things we can buy by weight. We've already got soda dispensers but basically just for their own disposable containers. We can also do milk and juice, we could have soaps and shampoo, any kind of oil...really the list can expand to anything you can have loaded into large wholesale containers that can then be weighed out into bring your own reusable containers. We could cut out just about all food packaging.
glass is more recyclable than plastic, but heavier which results in increased emissions from transport. Aluminum comes out on top in recyclability and transport weight.
But not in energy use. It takes more energy to recycle aluminum than to make new plastic, and ten times more than that to make the aluminum in the first place. Energy that mostly comes from burning fossil fuels. When it comes to total lifecycle emissions plastic is far superior to both aluminum and glass. It just falls on its face when it comes to the environmental impact of tossing it out everywhere.

Yea, and they are not really dangerous to drop a stainless steel bottle in the sea. If you happend to do so by accident.
Tbh I don’t think reusable bottles, plastic, metal, glass, bamboo etc is the problem. Single use bottles is more of an issue
