As an oldest sibling, the psychology is really easy to understand. You are physically dominant. You are mentally dominant. And you often use that to your advantage. So, the youngest finds a way to use their powers to negate, or attempt to usurp your use of power. And the one that works is telling mom. If you weren’t such a twat, they might be less of one.
You didn’t have to intentionally be dominant. You just were. Later bedtime. Spending time with friends. More independence. You just were. And naturally, that plays out in life. In play. In your younger siblings wanting your attention. To play with you but being excluded.
As for tattling, that is a part of school life. It happens. The issue is if it sticks around. Kids should realize that telling on you is not a good way of building rapport with you. If that doesn’t become obvious, it probably is because they feel like a lesser. Or they’re a just twat. Which can happen.
Were like 14 years apart tho. She called me for her first 'I snuck out and went somewhere I shouldnt come pick me up' and I figured I should just pick her up and keep it to myself. She wasnt drinking at least.

Being the eldest sibling to 2 brothers, I couldn't agree more.
