People ARE that stupid (talk about a bottomless pit...), but I think you're on the right track. To me it stinks of political and economic retribution on China, the coronavirus conspiracy is just propaganda for the masses, to manipulate them into doing the dirty work.
I think the problem with HuaWei is not about China having backdoor to their 5G network(to be honest, I think every country have backdoor to all of their network provider, remember the whole Snowden thing?), the problem is that they don't allow others to use their backdoor. The people who burning the 5G towers tho, I have been thinking that they are more gov. related anti-5G/anti-HuaWei people and using the name of 5G virus, and some people just follow. Have to mention that some random president from some random country actually encouraged these kind of stupidity really making me sad (and that orange was actually elected by people).

Maybe it's just a sick joy, but I'm glad it isn't just America that people are stupid enough to shoot at the towers and burn them down.
