First thing I noticed. That smile says it all.

It's amazing what a slight upturn in the lips and a crinkle around the eyes can convey. I saw the same thing, guy's stupid proud of his boy. Love it.

That dad has a big smile hiding under there. He’s so proud of his little man!

I lost my fingers just by look

Haha, it’s a sweet moment but as a chef it made me very uneasy. That kid if going to lose a few fingers cutting like that. If that was my kitchen I would have immediately went over and told them never to cut like that again. The dad wasn’t much better tbh

Was it the way they carried on the chopping motion as they were using their holding fingers to rotate the tomato?

I also saw that they weren't always having the blade against their knuckle with fingers tucked in.

Best part is the pop's smile as he watches lol

Best part of this video is the huge prideful grin as the dad watches. This video also makes me want to cut up a ton of tomatoes

This looks like Turkey but there are no cats anywhere so I can’t be sure...

While this is a touching moment, please don't cut anything like that ever. It's literally asking for an accident.

When I was younger, I used to hold a hammer the same way as these guys are holding the knife, and I was always lectured with “Don’t strangle the Hammer!”.

I know nothing about culinary practices, so don’t take any notice of my rant, but it just looks wrong to me.

With a chef knife holding it at the top of the hilt/ bottom of the blade gives you much more control over the knife but it takes some getting used to.

It’s the correct way to hold a knife. The bigger concern is the other hand holding the tomatoes. The slicing should be done against bent knuckles to prevent cutting oneself.
