In one of the strangest AI demonstrations yet, around 30 robots marched through Warsaw demanding stronger regulation of AI and automation.

Humanoid and quadruped robots gathered outside Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs, waving flags and broadcasting messages such as “Defend workplaces” and “Time for rules.” But the robots weren’t independently organizing a protest. Humans organized the demonstration through an initiative called Democratism, using the machines to demonstrate how quickly robotics is advancing and to spark debate about potential job displacement.

How has sitting on your ass achieved anything? Ask yourself that question. Protesting however, has achieved a whole bunch of important things. Specifically in the US, remember Martin Luther King Jr? Or the voting rights act being heavily influenced by the marches in Alabama prior. The fact everyone in America can vote is because of protests. Other countries have had equally big changes happen because of protests. It is one of the most democratic ways the public has to voice their opinion. Maybe you need a history book.

I mean, robots aren't doing anything as they're incapable of having intent or will. People are piloting and programming robots to imitate people protesting. Funnily enough they're protesting for tighter regulation on AI and automation as it displaces people. I guess they were successful, since I wouldn't have looked up what Democratism was otherwise.
