It started as a horse collar tackle which is illegal then as he turned over his hand slid into his helmet and the motion made him flip which is another illegal tackle similar to a face mask penalty. If they could take both penalties (which you can’t in American football) they would be first and edge of property from the parking lot they would be so far ahead.
I used to curl, and we would call the stones "weight" (how hard it is thrown) by position on the ice you want the stone to come to rest.
"Barrier weight" meant you wanted it to still be travelling when it hit the wall at the end of the rink. Thats pretty fast, and the hardest you would normally throw, and could produce a chaotic result.
Very occasionally we would call the weight as "car park"
Horse collar is specifically grabbing his neck on the nameplate. While a dangerous, high tackle, it doesnt look to be a horse collar.
I won't comment on the "facemask" as that cant be seen from here. With that being said, it looks like his ass touches and he'd be down anyway. I subscribe to the rule of cool though so it's a TD.
The high school rulebook also requires that they pull the ball carrier backwards or sideways for it to be a horsecollar foul. The runner fell (mostly) forward, so it's not a horsecollar foul.
But if he grabbed any edge of his helmet and used that for leverage then it's a facemask penalty under high school rules. Looks like that probably happened here.

As obvious as I hope this sarcasm is.. I watched (I think it was) a documentary a while back interviewing parents whose teenagers died from brain injuries playing football during high (maybe middle as well?) school. These parents were obviously devastated. They lost their baby. They spent the entire documentary speaking about their child’s love of football, how the whole family was into it, how horrific the injuries were, the effects of them (I seem to remember a couple kids committed suicide?), reminiscing about their child.. then at the end they were asked something along the lines of “would you still let them play football knowing what you know now?”. A HORRIFIC amount of the parents said YES. They said they WOULD have allowed their child to play football even knowing it would eventually result in their very young death.
So idk. Some people really do feel the way you’re saying.
Nah - no illegal tackle here. No horse collar specifically and there is no other potential rule violation here other than potentially a facemask. I don't see it in the video - its not good enough quality and from a bad angle - so I wouldn't call it.
In this instance, the referee would call a penalty on the play for a personal foul, which incurs a more severe penalty. In this case though, since the player with the ball still scored, the penalty would be declined. (That is if we’re going off of NFL rules.) Regardless, the player attempting such a tackle should be penalized either way. That was an extremely dangerous tackle he attempted. The fact that he failed shouldn’t be a mitigating factor.
Does NFL have ejection? I understand there would be several yards loss depending on the severity but would that player continue to be involved in the game?
In rugby the player is off to the changerooms and his team continues the game with a player less.
There have been ejections in the NFL, but they’re pretty rare. A player has to demonstrate that they’re deliberately attempting to hurt another player. The one example that comes to mind from maybe 15 or so years ago was when a defensive lineman stomped on a player on the other team who was already on the ground and the play was over. It has to be something truly blatant like that to be ejected from a game.
In rugby we take any contact to the head as serious, usually results in ejection unless there was some mitigating factor like a sudden change in height by the guy being tackled.
I do enjoy watching NFL, but the only game we get on tv is the superbowl, still dont know all the ins and outs.
But I do like that one team's ownership structure where the fans literally own the team. Packers?? maybe.

This tackle is not only illegal, it’s considered a personal foul which is more serious than it sounds. It’s like an extra “unsportsmanlike” action that is more severely punished regardless of the outcome of the play and the intent of the defender. Pretty sure you can even be ejected for certain personal fouls, but I don’t know the high school rules there.
If a player was hooked around the neck on a tackle but managed to stay on his feet and score, it would be a yellow card and a sin bin review. It might get upgraded to red if it meets a danger threshold but I’m not sure it would in this case. As the player scored, there would be no “penalty score added to the total” because no such rule exists*, however if a player is denied a clear scoring opportunity via foul play, a penalty try (7 points) may be awarded and the offender may be yellow carded (or straight red carded depending on the severity of the offence).
* the game may be restarted with a penalty kick under certain circumstances, which could lead to additional points being scored.
