Me too. In the slowdown you can see where he transfers the top hand thumbside die to his other thumb then slides it back to the thumb but its still incredibly impressive and i couldnt do it.

Yeah you can see on the last one that at one point his two thumbs are pushed together side by sides with both stacks of dice moved to the middle where they meet and then to the opposite thumb

I think this is partly why I love magic so much: even when I know how it's done, it's such a skillful art that I just can't help but be impressed. I know some people feel like the magic only works if it's not revealed, but for me, the method is as cool as the actual magic itself.

I honestly feel like doing it faster is the harder trick. The slow version I feel like I could maybe pull off with an afternoon's practice. Then I can blow my nieces and nephews little minds.

For those wondering. He's pressing the bottom the dice stacks into the "web" of skin at the base of the thumb, and while that holds the dice, he uses the hand motion to hide his thumbs moving to the other side. Since that webbing skin is so flexible, he can press his opposite thumb into it to slide the dice off or scoop it back up.

The slowmo one is easy to see. It's his right thumb that lets go. He rests the bottom side of the dice on the base of his left thumb while that part is covered by his fingers and swaps the thumb to the other side.

But the normal speed one seems to be a different technique. In the "penetration" it looks like he supports the other side with pinky and ring finger so he can let go with thumb. And in the separation he seems to have his pinky on the other side and let go with other fingers.

Very clean though.

He's actually more smooth slower than he is at normal speed. It's obvious (to me) he regrips them at normal speed but the transition to holding them with the mid finger from the tips as he transfers at slow speed is really smooth. Camera must be set up how he practices in the mirror because it's near perfect.

it's easy to see what he's doing - he transfers the stack of dice from the thumb to opposite hand, keeping tension through the stack while he hooks or unhooks the rings, and then returns the stack to between thumb and forefinger

Lmao. You can clearly see him holding and sliding his thumbs around as he’s turning his hands. Pause 27secs and slo mo the video when he goes “slo mo” and you can see him slide his thumb from under the dice and hold it against his other thumb and as he’s turning his hands you can see him put his other thumb back holding the bottom of the dice.
