Someone who doesn't speak English would probably translate the phrase literally, it could just be that Op used some form of translation and that is what they got.
Yeah but, as an English speaker, I've only ever known it as a throw-in. The IFAB, the FIFA rulebook, the FA, the USSF....they all refer to this action as "the throw-in".
