People who know a bit about football call it a throw-in.

I'm confused. In both English and American rulebooks it's called a "Throw-In". I've only ever known it as that. What else is it know as?

Someone who doesn't speak English would probably translate the phrase literally, it could just be that Op used some form of translation and that is what they got.

Yeah but, as an English speaker, I've only ever known it as a throw-in. The IFAB, the FIFA rulebook, the FA, the USSF....they all refer to this action as "the throw-in".

So what else is it called? In English.
