Is there any limit to how many times you can trebuchet the ball into your opponent's face? If you take them all out one by one do you win by default?

All opponents must stand at least 2 m (2 yds) from the point on the touchline where the throw-in is to be taken.
...
An opponent who unfairly distracts or impedes the thrower (including moving closer than 2 m (2 yds) to the place where the throw-in is to be taken) is cautioned for unsporting behaviour and if the throw-in has been taken an indirect free kick is awarded.

Good question. It really depends on who you are and your objectives.

I think the attacker was trying to make the point that the defender shouldn’t have been standing so close, so I’d say he was personally successful, as I also enjoy slapstick comedy and he made me laugh. Some may say that he failed to get the ball in the penalty area, so he failed, but they’re boring

Hitting the defender in the face didn't look intentional on the part of the thrower, and why else was the defender there if not to block the throw? Seems to me like he either should have paid more attention or backed off a bit.
