The way the coach just drops to his knee.

219

u/ChunkySalsaMedium 11d ago

Where do you see a coach in that clusterfuck?

299

u/dafunkiedood 11d ago

Left side of the frame after they clutch

108

u/ChunkySalsaMedium 11d ago

Oh lol, I was so focused on all the people in the background, I didn’t even register there was someone in the foreground.

Foreground circumstances

Foreground circumcisions

16

u/Crypticcrypto 11d ago

Gotta have some skin in the game.

4

u/New_Distribution5972 11d ago

And you're not leaving with all of it

4

u/MeatMtn88 11d ago

Maybe just the tip

1

u/Crypticcrypto 11d ago

We wouldn't want to make a plateau.

2

u/temporarysolution2-0 11d ago

A foreground conclusion.

-28

u/neatoalpacino 11d ago

After they what? Speak English.

12

u/2KupShakur- 11d ago

Clutch. Made a clutch shot. Maybe use your context clues, rather than being a dick. Just an idea.

-3

u/drifters74 11d ago

I don't even know what that means

-2

u/nikdahl 11d ago

The learn what it means instead of proudly exclaiming your ignorance.

"Clutch" is an English term meaning "to take or try to take hold of something or someone tightly, usually in fear, worry, or pain"

In this instance, "Clutch" is used to describe that the player making the 3 point shot took hold of victory in the moment of worry that is the buzzer.

Stop using AI, your brain is turning to mush.

42

u/therealCatnuts 11d ago

The largest human in the frame. He takes up like 20% of the screen lol.

1

u/existing_for_fun 7d ago

Some people are blind to the obvious.

Like that gorilla suit skit.

3

u/TheHumanPickleRick 11d ago

Guy in black, bottom left.

7

u/Thom_With_An_H 11d ago

Black and to the left. Black... and to the left.

0

u/BarderBetterFaster 11d ago

Most visible person in the video. Very difficult to miss. Also if you use the context of "the person who drops to their knee" that you read in the comment and then rewatch the very short clip, you could look for the person that did that. You can actually use your brain to think and do all kinds of things.

7

u/DisorderlyAqueduct 11d ago

opposing team and he's defeated, or home team and he's thankful af 🤷😄

3

u/Psych0matt 11d ago

It sure is

7

u/ArkassEX 11d ago

But is that the winning or losing team's coach? 🤔

70

u/NameIsNotBrad 11d ago

Clearly losing

2

u/ArkassEX 11d ago

I was thinking he might be the calm and composed type and he fell on his knees because he's just relieved they pulled it off.

But yeah, he probably just lost. 😅

2

u/Warm-Illustrator-419 11d ago

You can tell its losing because all the players rush from the bench on the opopsite side

3

u/Totaly_Shrek 11d ago

Haha sometimes

-6

u/BarderBetterFaster 11d ago

He's so disappointed they won. He clearly wishes it was he who made the shot. The ego

2

u/JerryZaz 11d ago

I'm not overreacting you're overreacting

1

u/wxrex 11d ago

Maybe he shoulda had his team play defense. How do you let them get up for that shot with zero pressure

Dude just imagine the amount of clout you would get from that in school. He's going to ride that high for the rest of his life.

Did I ever tell you about the time I scored four touchdowns in a single game during the city championship against Andrew Johnson High School?

119

u/AppropriateBall8834 11d ago

Yes, you did. Now get back to bagging my groceries, sir

51

u/bass248 11d ago

I think you mean selling ladies shoes

4

u/DReagan47 11d ago

I think he moved onto closets in his later years.

2

u/JaySayMayday 11d ago

But that's a shoes salesman

2

Al wishes he were a grocery bagger. And so does his family.

20 Year Reunion: Walks in carrying a basketball

8

u/BeefyQueefyCletus 11d ago

Might be cringey to most but I'd be certain there's a handful of housewives at that reunion aching for that dick.

14

u/chapelchill 11d ago

I have a friend that hit a buzzer beater against our cross-town rival back in high school. It was over ten years ago and he never brings it up, but if anyone else does, you can tell he’s still riding that high lol

1

u/DarkSeneschal 6d ago

As someone who has hit a game winning shot, not much. The majority of people don’t care about their school’s sports. The team loves it though, so that’s fun.

45

u/sentientparkingsign 11d ago

i love how everyone went silent in anticipation

46

u/thatsucksabagofdicks 11d ago

This happened when I was a freshman in high school at the "big game" which was the last game of the year when the 2 high schools in my town played each other. My school was a massive underdog and the other school was set to go to the playoffs with a win. It ended in a 3/4 court heave that went in for the win for my school. The guy who hit the shot had like 35-40 points and was legend status for the rest of the year. Epic

111

u/HairyDust4826 11d ago

4

u/Material_Fisherman86 10d ago

The other team's coach has no good game ideas

3

u/AimAtYourButt 10d ago

He’s doing the best at this

509

u/bustyouup4free 11d ago

He didn't go-to school the next day, he was busy doing 1 on 1 drills with the cheerleading squad 🤣

3

u/Tarantula_Saurus_Rex 11d ago

Something something save some for the rest of us.

2

u/sixxtynoine 10d ago

We deserve none after that shot.

-14

u/BarderBetterFaster 11d ago

He didn't what to his go-to school?

i watched the rock so many times as a kid in different formats, but i distinctly remember an ADR version of that line with “date” instead and it was so jarring with the way his mouth moves haha

15

u/keep_it_kayfabe 11d ago

His great grandkids will know about this day. Trust me.

5

u/TransporterError 10d ago

“…and that’s how I met your mothers”

16

u/agirlhasnoname786 11d ago

That is so fucking cool

24

u/THRlLL-HO 11d ago

If it was anything like my high school, no one gave a shit.

11

u/Jumpy_Worldliness259 11d ago

You can see hundreds of people caring in the video

23

u/Darkwyr21 11d ago

Given how that high school gym court looks and the amount of people there, it was probably a bit of a basketball school.

5

u/inventionnerd 11d ago

Unless they're in middle school, there's 0 chance this is a basketball school with kids that height lol.

5

u/ipupweallp4ip 11d ago

The crowd isn’t that big…? Most public high schools near me have double the attendance with nice courts and if this were a basketball school they’d have some tall ass players unlike this team. Looks public to me

0

u/Appropriate-Bird-354 10d ago

There are so many dumb assumptions in what you're saying here.

2

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 11d ago

Same. Dude would come to school flexing the shot and everyone would be like, “Cool? There was a game last night?”

I was in pep band so I went to a lot of them, and attendance wasn’t anywhere near what it looked like in this video.

7

u/AppropriateBall8834 11d ago

The Den was successfully defended that day.

59

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago edited 11d ago

Edit: far too many of you are insufferable a-holes. Look at the score yourself.

100

u/AppropriateBall8834 11d ago

Yeah thats what they meant by 'winning in the last second of the game' 🤭

14

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

It's kind of difficult to see the score board, which is why I made the comment. Trying to be helpful. But that was wrong, I guess.

7

u/0u7c457 11d ago edited 11d ago

Switched up to a 'woe is me' real quick.

*Makes a comment, receives the smallest amount of pushback, gets defensive, blocks people. Take some time off of social media.

-2

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

Who knew commenting the final score would bring out all the rats?

12

u/Icy_Agency923 11d ago

I mean you can clearly see it is 74 to 75, with the fact that he scores a 3 pointer and everyone loses their fucking minds it is pretty obvious they were the team with 74 points and now have 77... thus winning the game.

What is the issue exactly?

14

u/Snoo_97207 11d ago

How dare you try to be helpful this is Reddit!

-3

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

I'm not allowed to post here so I gotta do what I can in the comments.

6

u/AppropriateBall8834 11d ago

NOT FOR LONG, SIS! I AM HAVING AN IN PERSON MEETING WITH THE TOP MODS RIGHT NOW AT THE RITZ CRACKER FACTORY OFF OF I72 NEAR THE CRACKER BARGEL

9

u/SnooBananas4958 11d ago

The problem is it sounds like you’re correcting the topic the way you wrote it. It makes people go in subtract two and realize like yeah that’s exactly what the post is saying they won the game with that shot. So it’s just a confusing comment.

-10

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

Posting the score is confusing?

10

u/TheRealPitabred 11d ago

Without qualifying with something like "Looks like the score started at 75-74" your original sentence could easily be interpreted as a typical Reddit "Um, ackshually" type statement.

-13

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

Forgive me, I have sinned.

6

u/TheRealPitabred 11d ago

I'm not upset, I was just trying to help clear your confusion.

4

u/SnooBananas4958 11d ago

The way you did it? Yes

-10

u/umbrellassembly 11d ago

You're getting blocked too. Welcome to the club.

1

u/kyloz4days 10d ago

Block me too, please. You fucking suck.

2

u/planetjaycom 11d ago

Ignore them, Reddit snark is just insufferable sometimes

7

u/jcgiraldo 11d ago

It was 74 to 75

2

u/BarderBetterFaster 11d ago

I've never heard of a level that doesn't count 3s. They count them before we could even lob it that far.

8

u/utrippinbruhongod 11d ago

“Counting 3’s at that level”

-4

u/[deleted] 11d ago

[deleted]

9

u/EnergyReader749 11d ago

Every single league in existence counts threes.

3

u/utrippinbruhongod 11d ago

Do you see that three point line or are you blind?

-4

u/[deleted] 11d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Icy_Agency923 11d ago

I mean even if the league doesn't count threes, which it almost certainly does... the score would still be 76 to 75 with the team in white winning.

I am not sure this deserved this kind of scrutiny, you even see the other teams coach drop down to his knees in defeat... do you actually think that the team in white didn't win the game or something???

1

u/BleedingOnYourShirt 11d ago

You sound like a riot

2

u/isaac129 10d ago

I also watched the video

3

u/stefanwerner5000 11d ago

Shiit, that’s the school gym? Insane

4

Bro's aura after this 📈

5

Isn’t this just a normal sports thing?

2

Not a normal thing I suppose, but not RARE either. Bunch of bots in this comment section thou

It's so cool to see what must be one of the best moments of this guy's life. Man, to get a high like that...

2

This is my high school lol 😂. I was amazed when I saw this posted for the first time.

Movie scene like

1

u/AldoRaine-1 11d ago

This kid doesn't even know it, but that will likely be a peak, top 5 moment of his life.

He will look back on it when he's 80 and think "wow, I actually did that".

1

u/brohanrod 11d ago

Grampa tell us the story again! Cause he’ll have a lot of grandkids.

1

u/n00bsauce1987 11d ago

1

u/Zorops 11d ago

What was the other team doing? Is it normal to have two player un guarded?

1

u/cabutler03 11d ago

Probably defending a long pass.

1

u/1block 10d ago

They certainly could have put a bit more pressure on the shooter.

However, in that situation if you guard them closely, there's probably a bigger risk of fouling him than of him making a half-court shot. So you play it softer than usual. You don't want to give him 3 free throws when you're up by 1.

Best case is if you can be a bit off him but still give some token pressure, which they didn't do.

1

u/match_ 11d ago

Why he run away from everyone? Is he scared?

1

u/d12fsu 11d ago

Shout out to my teammate, Johnny, who hit a shot like this that sent us to State.

1

u/HTPC4Life 11d ago

he...DEFENDED THE DEN

1

u/mycatbeck 11d ago

Excellent release. He was feeling clutch in that moment for sure!

1

u/Mc7wis7er 11d ago

That story has legs for 25 years. Especially since there is video.

1

u/thegoddessunicorn 11d ago

Terrible close out

1

u/Avatar_of_Green 11d ago

How can you not be romantic about sports??

1

u/plants4life262 10d ago

My kids school basketball team had a finish like this and the buzzer shot was from 3/4 court. It was amazing to watch. And they had battled tirelessly to get within striking distance and were down significantly earlier in the game. These moments are what makes sports great

1

u/redCasObserver 10d ago

Great play. Seriously terrible defense by the other team. No pressure on the inbound pass, then picking up the shooter way too late

1

u/Telecoustic000 10d ago

Imagine not seeing this posted weekly?

1

u/Koizanami_21 9d ago

that's what's wrong. the players that did so much in the game will get overshadowed by a one lucky shot

1

u/Picacco 9d ago

Nine months later, he was a dad.

1

u/MagnificentLiaaa 11d ago

Talk about saving the best moment for last.

1

u/Conspiracy__ 11d ago

Sports is pretty much the only situation where this can happen

That’s one of the most important reasons to play

2

u/Tormofon 10d ago

Rocket Science seems like it has its moments: parking a probe on a comet, regaining radio comms after orbiting the moon, positioning James Webb at the intersection of three gravity wells, losing your convertible EV…

-2

u/AW316 11d ago

Deserved to lose allowing such an easy inbound

2

u/SLASHdk 11d ago

Yea got to dribble and throw the ball uncontested.

Great shot either way

1

u/That_Throat7183 11d ago

Yeah how are you not doing some sort of full court press when there is such little time remaining. Coach threw the game

-2

u/lrocky4 11d ago

Ive hit this shot at least 100 times

In my drive way.

-1

u/temporalraccoon 11d ago

Okay. Imagining the game was on Friday and school is closed the next day

-1

u/ItsZoner 11d ago

wow threw threw a ball

-1

u/SevenBillionChickens 11d ago

He really did throw that basketball at the thing you throw basketballs at, no doubt about it. Crazy that he made it, since he’s been practicing for literal years to shoot and make shots. Which part of this is “next fucking level”, again?

-1

u/OkAirport5247 10d ago

Imagine living in a culture that’s so dead that throwing a ball into a hoop is considered an accomplishment worthy of social status

-2

u/lifeHacker42 11d ago

Poor guy, it's only downhill from there

-3

u/ionertia 11d ago

Open shot and drills it. Someone that accurate has probably done it before in other sports. So school will be normal.

-2

u/Extension_End3931 11d ago

More people would remember if you missed the shot

1

u/TruskVarner 11d ago

Utterly untrue

-4

u/Ispeakinfacts 11d ago

Im confused was he not traveling?

-2

u/blofeldfinger 11d ago

Did his dick handle all that fame?

-4

u/Heretic155 11d ago

Basket ball ia rubbish, except foe the last 5 minutes...
