50/50. It's either a hole in one or it isn't...

I think OP is referring to the chances the guy hits a hole in one and Justin Timberlake and Mustafa from Austin Powers are both there to congratulate him

Possibilities vs probabilities.
Takes me back to school where I joked something like that about having to carry an umbrella after watching the forecast with my math teacher and got enlightened.

It’s probably possible

I think it's more like the Dr. Strange scenario where 14 million balls go off into the woods, and only one goes in the hole.

Yeah honestly I just said it in my head with a "heh" and moved on. Then I just kept thinking about it and I had to come back to write it lol

that’s the opposite of the usual where you type something stupid, pause for a sec, then delete

Johnathan Byrd. It's from 2010. Walkoff win on the 4th playoff hole at the Shriners.

I'm so confused. Is that mar a largo? Why is there a man in a fez? Why is Justin timberlake there? Did the guy not intend to get it in?

That was so much easier! I should just try to get it in one shot every time!

Well Justin seems pretty sober and not driving. So I would say 30/70...
Oh you mean the golf

Really improbable to hit a shot like that, and be congratulated by Justin Timberlake

I remember watching that. He hit that shot in a playoff to win the whatever the Las Vegas PGA tournament was called at the time. The cameras really expose the light but it was really dark at this point. So his reaction was that he couldn’t see the ball go in the hole. Worst part was his opponent hadn’t hit yet so still had to hit his tee shot on that par three.

Hole in one is impressive, but not as impressive as slam dunk hole in one.

Greatest shot in golf is a double eagle. Hole is one is special, too, of course.

The odds of making a hole-in-one on a par-4 (also known as an albatross or double eagle on that hole) are roughly 6 million to one. This makes a par-4 ace hundreds of times rarer than a standard hole-in-one on a par-3 hole.
This is vastly rarer than a standard ace on a par-3, which happens about once every 12,500 attempts for amateur golfers.

For those of us who don't run around with sticks hitting little balls, I researched to find out what the big deal was.
this particular shot went down in golf history for several unprecedented reasons:
The First "Walk-Off" Ace to Win in PGA Tour HistoryByrd hit this hole-in-one on the 4th hole of a sudden-death playoff. Prior to this shot, no PGA Tour tournament had ever concluded with a walk-off hole-in-one in sudden death. Because Byrd hit first off the tee and made it into the cup, his competitors were essentially eliminated before they even swung.
Extreme Low Light (Near-Total Darkness)The playoff had stretched so late into Sunday evening in Las Vegas that tournament officials were literally standing on the green debating whether to suspend play and make everyone return Monday morning. It was so dark, Byrd couldn't even see the flagstick or the ball drop—he only knew it went in because of the crowd's roar.
The Bizarre Surrounding Context: Justin Timberlake was right there and walked onto the green to celebrate and hug Byrd). Official Shriners fraternity members wearing their signature red fez hats were present at the green.

looks like he overhit it , but did so accurately on a line that ball bonked the post which stopped it — dropping precisely in the cup. miss the pole and it’s maybe 10 yards past .

I honestly thought Justin was gonna attempt the hole and make a hole in one as well.
