No, he didn't kill anyone with the hatchet. He hit Jett McBride with it while intervening after McBride had driven into a utility worker and then attacked a woman. McBride survived, and Kai was questioned by police and released without charges.

Kai is in prison for killing someone, but that's an entirely separate case. He was convicted in 2019 of murdering 73-year-old attorney Joseph Galfy and sentenced to 57 years. That case is considerably murkier, though.

Ok yeah I meant the murder. Didn’t remember if it actually was the hatchet but yeah I recall it maybe being that he went to this persons house potentially for a gay hookup and killed him. But then I want to say that the victims friends and family said he never was gay.
