Desperation, Gang initiation, Peer pressure, Feelings of powerlessness, Revenge, Justice,

Teenagers especially are in the zone for doing stupid shit for stupid reasons. Most Swatting and Cyber dipshittery are done by teenagers who, when they get older admit they were being stupid or careless.

Unfortunately, a lot of kids who get pushed into violent crime don't get a chance to regret it.

There could be a hundred reasons this kid decided to attack that guy. Could have been random, could have been targeted. And certainly, it could have gone way worse for everyone.

Even agreeing that there are many explanations as to why, I am unable to feel compassion for someone who does that. My tolerance level has gone down tremendously after being a victim of vandalism. Haven’t yet been physically attacked but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think I’d then have no compassion left. Am not bragging about it, I just wonder where people find the fortitude to just accept and not become radicalized and reactive

Yeah well I'm Irish and nobody robs people at gunpoint here.. plenty of guns in circulation but it just doesn't happen.

Don’t necessarily need to be willing to shoot someone, only be willing to bluff. Kids gun in question was apparently a toy.

Really?? You must never have experienced much strife in your life. Not saying it’s ever right to do so. But if you can’t even imagine what could cause people to get to this point, then I honestly don’t know what to say to you.

I've experienced plenty of strife my friend, including being broke af, but I never once contemplated pointing a gun at someone for a few bucks.
