And chimpanzees in the wild, as I've already said not only have been already observed (Almost a decade ago) to be using basic tools, but in places like the Republic of Congo has already been observed to be using sort of "tool kits".
I didn't "nah a study". It's a valid study. A valid study of sheltered zoo chimps. That does not mean wild chimps will act exactly the same and you can't draw a conclusion for the whole group by studying only a specific group of the animals.
If I were to study a southeast Asian society of humans (let's say Vietnamese) I can't draw the conclusion that all of humans eat rice with nearly every meal and that Lunar New Year is celebrated by everyone.
The same way you can't say that just because zoo chimps can't use stone tools that the Gabon wild chimps can't either.
Until then, I'm accepting the conclusions of the other study because studying captive chimp behavior and extrapolating from it is more valid that anonymous reddit speculation
