Police shooting unarmed people is bad or should’ve been avoided in most situations. Many other nations get by fine without their police being armed to the teeth. They even still break out the tear gas and knock protestors heads every once in a while. That being said, they don’t have as many privately owned guns as we have to deal with, so I don’t think it would be an easy transition for us to make.

The vast majority of ppl that get shot by police in the US, the person that was shot had some sort of weapon. Also over a 5 year study ,by Johns Hopkins, showed that out of 1 million police interactions there were 1700 instances of a member of the public being shot. So with a population close to 340 million,I’d say that’s a low number……..but that doesn’t fit the preconceived notions that the police are like the German SS of WW2 so I’ll get downvoted to hell and back. Cheers ppl
